Learning how to make love to life

I realized today that we all have a different way of connecting to life.

Of falling in love with it

Your own specific way of cleansing your perception of its perceived current state

and creating a story in which you are the main character

I personally do this by going on mini adventures. By taking myself out to experience something new. I find that when I do this, I am so, so, present with what is in front of me.

I take it ALL in. I am filled with wonder and awe. And I allow myself to fully BE exactly where I am, because I see no other way.

There is nothing else to distract me from the pure perfection of the moment.

I make it a point to pick out the beauty.

I see the different colors, the people, the trees.

I touch all the different textures, the walls, the chairs.

I taste the humidity in the air, a delicious dish, (sometimes i swear I can even taste colors)

and in this appreciation of life, I feel it all.

You make love to life by experiencing it with all your senses

by honoring it

Being present with it

Fully taking it all in

Allowing it to unfurl inside of you

Reveling in the mystery

in the pure bliss of feeling…simply, for the sake of feeling

This is what makes us human

feeling shows us that we are alive

And sensing is the way to get there

Being in our senses makes life PLEASURABLE

It makes life worth living

It allows you to appreciate the beauty of life

and it takes you from comparing & negating,

to loving and accepting.

This can be hard to do for someone that has experienced trauma. They block off their senses and receptivity to life because at one point in time, this was the most unsafe thing to do.

Yet, I have witnessed it time and time again…

that when someone is healing from their trauma; their senses begin to awaken. They see more, feel more, and experience more.

“it’s as if I was never truly living, then bam! One day I woke up and saw everyone living their lives, enjoying their lives, and I realized I am now free to do the same. I couldn’t help but smile and take it all in” - Past Client

But this takes time…and titration (pacing your nervous system to slowly open up to more without overriding and possibly re-traumatizing)

This is why self-compassion, knowing your own markers, and possibly even having a guide help you through this transition is important.

Because when you start opening up to your senses,

Life begins.

Through Taste

Through Touch

Through Smell

Through Sound

Through Sight

You can start fully receiving its very essence.

That is making love to life

this is the pathway to creating passion, meaning, and becoming a magnetic human being.

on sensuality:

Sensuality is not always sexuality.

These are two very different things.

To be sensual is to be in your senses

to be alive

to be open

to be present

to feel

The more embodied and in our senses we are, the greater capacity we have to receive life’s “data”.

This can be receiving abundance, love, freedom, joy, gratitude

But it can even increases our capacity to hold the ‘bad’ stuff.

To dive deeper into our emotions and clear them.

Once we learn to master this,

we are free to create, love, dance, be wild and truly free!

And that, my loves, is truly worth something
